Another question:

if a Soviet unit somehow is in the sectors of two or more fronts and if those fronts are not all on either defensive or offensive posture, is the unit treated as -2AR on attack, +1AR on defense, both, neither?

it seems as though this ought to be possible because the front boundary markers can be oriented NW, W, or SW and other fronts' boundaries can be oriented such that the boundaries cross (albeit far ahead of the markers)

this would be especially more probable if the Soviet players elect not to move the markers forward (perhaps in order to retain flexibility per a convenient answer to the question)

perhaps actually putting the markers on their starting positions and exploring the permutations reveals this question to be impossible to achieve but it seems like it shouldn't be difficult at all, at least in the grand campaign where the markers could simply be left where they begin and then oriented so that the lines cross where Soviets units are on-map much later in the war

Tej,

Many thanks, to answer your points and I look forward to meeting you in Sandusky

ALL fronts are on either defensive or offensive pose.

These series of games cover the war ONLY from late September 1943- April 1944. The frontal system will develop in the next series of games from May 1944- January 1945. Here Theatre offensives will be one area of design development.

When you see the fronts in action I hope you see how they very simply reflect the soviet doctrine of the day

I am the guy bringing the Federation and Empire stuff for the guys playing it, but was going to be the back up person for that game in case someone can't show. Looks like everyone will be there so I am "free" to play something else. I have only played minimally OCS with others and a fair amount solo to just get the rules down. Count me as a Noob. I would be happy to take a relative inactive area and learn from some of the greats if you would so have me.

I will be happy for any OCS action I can get. I don't need to be in the big scenario. Thank you!
