My Play List

Post by KevinRohrer » Tue Jan 16, 2018 1:11 am

This will be my first-time attending, and as I will be newly retired, plan to be there every day.

Am looking to play as many of these as possible:

*Napoleon Against Europe (Hexasim)
*Empire of the Sun (GMT)
*Shifting Sands (MMP)
*Sergeants Miniatures (Lost Battalion Games)
*Liberty Roads (Hexasim)
*Napoleon's Last Gamble (Zucker)
*Combat Commander (GMT)
*Lock'n Load series of tactical games (L'nL)
*Barbaross to Berlin (GMT)
*Liberty or Death (GMT)
*Fire in the Lake (GMT)
*Space Empires (GMT)
*The Great Game (Legion)
*Twilight Struggle (GMT)
*Labyrinth (GMT)

Wow, great list! Wouldn't mind playing some of these!

I am going to be playing a mini-monster, OCS Forgotten War (Korea) -- so that may take up a good chunk of time. However I'd love to get some exposure to the tactical games you list.

I've played Space Empires some and love the game (Not that I'm any good at it!) Had trouble drumming up interest at past Winterfests, as most of the guys are wedded to their monsters. Looking forward to seeing you!

Kevin:

I'll be there for at least 3 or 4 days starting on Saturday...have a reservation all week so may stay longer.

I'm familiar with EotS, B2B, FitL, TWS, and Lab...played CC but the game doesn't like me, lol.

Besides OCS, wargame wise I've got a few of the other COIN games (Cuba, Andean Abyss), as well as The Napoleonic Wars, Sword of Rome, and Empires in Arms. Not sure how far we could get with EiA, but would be a hoot for a big multiplayer...

Kevin and Jeff:

Gotta say, the more I think about this the more I'm into the idea of playing lots of smaller games (instead of spending all my time with a monster). I've talked about playing OCS Korea with Todd, but I definitely want to make time for these games too!!

I live just five minutes from the hotel, so my games are right at hand. Haven't had lots of time this year so I'd might need to brush up, but here are some additional suggestions:

Normandy 44
Holland 44
Dien Bien Phu: The Final Gamble
Celles (one mapper from Revolution, deepest penetration of Bulge)
Invasion 1066: Battle of Hastings
Commands and Colors Ancients
Iron Bottom Sound
Bloody April 1917: Air war over Arras
Gazala: the Cauldron
Ukraine 43

I'm really interested in your tactical games, Kevin. Haven't done much at that scale and would like to see what it's like.

Looking forward to the Fest!

Dave

Also added to the list is Absolute Victory by Compass. However, I won't spend the time reading rules unless at least one person wants to give this a spin. It is a big, long game.

Also interested in:

*Amateurs to Arms (Clash of Arms)
*Enemy Action Ardennes (Compass)
*Golan '73 (GMT)

Oh, and I am downsizing my game inventory. Will be bringing almost all my OCS, SCS, and TCS games to sell.

If you are looking for something other than those mentioned, ask me. It may well be not a shelf here.

Kevin:

If you have the original Sicily or Hube's Pocket (or forbid) Case Blue, I'd take a look...

Dave,

I have the following from your list and would be willing to read some rules so we can try them:

Normandy 44
Holland 44
Commands and Colors Ancients
Iron Bottom Sound 2 & 3

Let me know when you will be there and what you want to play first.

Jeff -- do you have the Epic expansion? I've wished I could find that, but no luck.

The idea of 3 v 3 with overall general seems likes loads of fun
