So what kind of progress specifically has been made with regards to AW2 pre-Air/Amphib?
Nothing concrete yet, we're still in the discussion stage. But we're talking about doing the pre-game stuff at Merv's place in November.

Re: Big Games Thoughts for 2019

But if I recall, and I'm reaching back a ways, Merv was not very impressed with HHF. I might be wrong as I recall this had to do with playing it in tandem with WaR. I could certainly see how this would be problematic, as there is no support whatever for it in the actual games. I've only soloed WaR....

If this proves too tedious, might'n it make more sense to play Wacht Am Rhein?
Or Hurtgen. Hurtgen has updated game-specxific rules; Wacht does not, and I have little faith that we will see those by February. With AW and HHF, the updated rules make a big difference as far as clarity goes.

Re: Big Games Thoughts for 2019

Given we spent one full day and part of the second just resolving landings, I would like to suggest that whomever plays the Allies, all Airborne Drops and Amphib Landings be conducted in advance of Winterfest and be logged as part of the set-up at the con. I realize this poses some issues (for inst...

We've also looked at playing Compass' Montelimar, part of the Company Scale Series. Lee Hanna and I played a turn at Merv's and the game looks fun.
Bear in mind that I have the Guam game in that series as well.

Re: Our Gaming Interests

My brother (Donato) and I are planning on attending this year. We spoke with Kevin and Gary at the Buckeye Game Fest and they peaked our interest in a small format war gaming venue. We are trusting Victory Games will come through with Thunder in the East by Christmas and play that while at W-F. We ...

Re: Our Gaming Interests

High Level of Interest: LOB or GCotACW. I also picked up 3DoG recently. GTS with a preference for The Greatest Day. GOSS; Hurtgen probably fits best in our format and has updated game-specific rules. I think if we tried Atlantic Wall (which I would love to do) we'd be best served by playing out at ...

Re: Our Gaming Interests

So given the choice, what would be your preference between the following? * One game played all week until everyone drops from mental blowout. * A couple of smaller but still big games. * A game or two a day. Bear in mind that there'll still be pickup stuff running all week. In particular, if you've...
